How to Reset your Gmail Password

  1. To begin, head over to Gmail’s sign-in page and enter your email address, then click next to enter your password.  
  2. Click on “forgot password?”. If you had a recovery email or device linked to your Google account, at this point, Gmail would send you a push message with a random number to use to authenticate yourself.
  3. Step 3.1 is for when you have a recovery email or device linked to your Google account, and step 3.2 is for when you don't have a recovery email or device connected to your Google account.

             3.1 When you receive the push message from Gmail, you will be asked to confirm if it’s you who is trying to recover your Gmail password. Click on “yes, it’s me ✅“ you will then be asked to select the number matching the one that is shown on the device you are using for this recovery process. 
After selecting the matching number, you will be able to create your new password and access your Gmail account again.

             3.2 Click on “Try another way”. You will be prompted to answer security questions such as “what’s your mother’s maiden name?”, you should be able to answer at least one of these questions. When you do answer correctly, you will now be able to create your new password and access your Gmail account again.
